Cranberry Shortbread Cookies

I revised an old recipe I had to freshen up the holiday classic of making shortbread cookies. I simply fell in love with the dough… ice cream like texture flecked with ruby red dried cranberries…. hmmm maybe La Casa Gelato could make a new flavour of gelato to add to their 208+ flavours…

Back in April when I went out to my first Vandicam group photo event, Portrait Throw-Down, Radio-Canada’s journalist and cameraman were there on hand to do a story on Flickr and it’s phenomenom . They chose to interview one of our group’s members, Vida (aka seawall runner) and documented our Portrait Throw-Down event. It’s quite fun to see the videa and remember that event. Vida and I were the first pair to be documented and I remember how awkward that was for both of us, as it was both of ours first time taking portraits, then to have a cameraman right in our spaces was intimidating… which is probably why they edited that part out… phew thank goodness. In the segment you can me here and there (how fun is that?!) and my good friend Rachael, who was the host for the event.

Jas and I had an opportunity to check out our annual fireworks festival in Vancouver last night. This year’s winner was Mexico, in their first year of participation. The first 2/3 of the photos are of Mexico’s performance on Aug. 5th. The latter 1/3 are from a 6 minute tribute finale from the sponsors.
The fabulous viewing spot is thanks to Isa, and to our new friends Jake & Caroline, who live on the 18th floor with the awesome view, and graciously extended the invitation.
